Sisal Weaving
Kenya
Sisal weaving is predominantly done by female artisans in Kenya using traditional East African hand weaving techniques. Sisal is the sixth most important cash crop in Kenya and is therefore a source of livelihood for both farmers and weavers who are mainly home workers since they weave in their spare time to supplement their family incomes. The Kiondoo can be woven with sisal or baobab fibres.
