The hand painted crackle process borrows from the ancestral cave-art of free hand painting. It is inspired by Zambian traditions and natural environment and involves the merging of traditional African art with modern design. Stunning wildlife from the nearby South Luangwa National Park features in the patterns. Artisans from the local community, hand-draw and paint each piece. The natural aesthetic is carried through with the mud resist and starch crackle that gives this fabric a one-of-a-kind look.
